“Let there be sound…Let there be light…Let there be drums…Let there be guitar…Oh, Let there be rock!”. AC DC knew it – rock music is where the world went right… If you don’t recognise the lyrics, I’d recommend having a little detour to youtube – ACDC are great!

If you are anything like me, music is a sanctuary. I dream of the days I can fill a wall with different guitars and bring a room alive with sound. To me, that is happiness and I know I am not the only one who thinks this.

When it comes to music practise and band rehearsals, a private space is necessary. A space away from the noise of the house TV; a place where you can zone out and play to your heart’s content.

At Huub we offer more than your typical music room. A Huub generates its own renewable energy from solar which can power all your electrical gear: your recording equipment, amplifier, lighting and speakers.

In addition we can also add acoustic soundproofing using sustainable products where possible.  Acoustic fabrics, baffle ceilings and perforated wooden panels can all be added to make a unique recording studio.

Renting a Studio is Costly!

Many solo artists and groups choose to practise at home since the fees associated with a recording/practise studio are pretty off-putting.

The cost for renting a studio varies from place to place. I remember when I was in a punk-rock band in Plymouth we had to pay £45 per session at the studio.

With that in mind if, when you calculate the long-term costs you realise renting a room is a pricey option.

If we base all our calculations on the £45 my band spent, if you go once a week every month that is £180 (which does not include travelling costs). Over a year, you would spend £2,160 alone on just one studio room. That is a lot of money spent on a space that is not your own.

Obviously these costs are based on going just once a week for a year. But, Imagine if you needed to practise more! At twice a week you are looking at £4,320 upwards which is crazy money to spend on renting a room.

Huub Music Room

Huub offers various modular designs and sizes which could accommodate a solo player to a band and their instruments.

Why invest in a Huub?

Firstly, you are adding value to your property. Experts have estimated that a Huub can increase house value by £20,000 or more. This is brilliant news if you ever want to sell up in the future.

Secondly, whilst Huubs are more expensive than renting a studio for one year. Once you have your studio you can have unlimited practise sessions, any time, any day. Since your studio is quite literally on your back door step, you have no travel expenses and less chance of damaging your beloved instruments.

Also, if you change your mind and decide music is no longer for you, you still have a great space to utilise!

My final point is actually the most important of them all. Huubs are special because they generate their own local renewable energy from Solar PV.  Saving C02 by the tonne allows you to do your bit for the planet.

Huubs typically generate more energy than they consume. This means that the excess energy can either be sent to power the appliances in your property or be sent back to the grid in return for some money.   Over the years, the money saved on electricity bills could enable you to pay off your Huub through your savings alone.
