Our Type 31 Huub is without-a-doubt our most popular design. It’s size lends a handy versatility that enables clients to utilize the space for anything from offices, art studios, outside conservatories and more!

Commonly, we are seeing our clients purchase these beautiful hand-build eco-pods for home working. They provide a relaxing space to complete work away from the hustle and bustle of the house and, the large windows and doors are perfect for letting in the natural light enabling you to get your daily dose of Vitamin D.

 

Solar PV and the Type 31

 

The Type 31 incorporates 9, 12, or 15, solar panels and can produce between 3,000 – 5,000 kWh* of renewable energy which is enough to power your home!

*The amount of energy produced is dependent upon the size of the solar array.

Furthermore, when our clients combine solar PV with a Tesla Powerwall solar battery,  they can reduce their entire electricity bill by up to 90%.

Solar energy reduces your carbon footprint and also future proofs your property. It is a great way to invest into a low carbon future and will overtime make considerable savings to your energy bill. 

 

Building Materials

 

Our Type 31 (alike all our Huub designs) are designed and manufactured in a solar powered warehouse in Dorset.

We use premium eco materials such as:

• Aluminium fascias, doors and windows (our aluminium is made from up to 60% recycled materials)
• Sustainable siberian larch cladding
• Forbo recycled/eco flooring
• Woodfibre insulation: Highly insulation and great for acoustic

Due to it’s high carbon content, we always try to avoid using concrete. We have designed our Huubs so that concrete is not required for footings thus, reducing our carbon footprint.

Modular Design

 

At Huub everything we build is modular.

The environmental benefits of building modular constructions are astonishing since research shows that modular construction reduces energy usage by up to 67% and reduces waste by up to 90%!

From a client’s perspective, the benefit of our modular design means that we can install them almost anywhere since each wall and element of the roof can be hand carried to site. We require no cranes or huge delivery vehicles so this is great when you want a hassle free installation. 

When it comes to the costs of our Type 31, it is worth noting that is variable depending on your size requirements and any additional extras you may wish for. As an example, you may want triple-glazed windows instead of our typical installation of double glazing.
